Bale Dismisses Man United Link, Revels In Madrid’s Super Cup Win

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale says he is not moved by transfer talk linking him with a move to Manchester United this summer but he is rather focused on trying to get fully fit for the start of the new season.

Bale who starred for the Los Blancos in Tuesday night’s UEFA Super Cup win over Manchester United in Macedonia also debunked reports claiming his has been asked to leave Real Madrid, especially after Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho made open overtures on Monday.

“I’m just concentrating on my football and I’m not listening to anything. I’m not reading anything, although people tell me bits and bobs. I’m enjoying my football and playing as much as a I can and winning trophies,” the Welsh international told BT Sports.

“Not that I know of. I haven’t had any of those conversations. I am just concentrating on my football and trying to get fitness up after not playing regularly for eight or nine months.”

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward was also pleased to add to his trophy haul at Real Madrid.

Bale joined Real in 2013 for a then world record fee of £85m and has won nine trophies (three Champions Leagues, One La Liga title, one Spanish cup, one FIFA Club World Cup and three UEFA Super Cups) at the club.

“It is obviously great to keep adding to the trophy collection. It was a difficult game but I think we played well and controlled the game very well,” he added.

“It helped we have been training in 38 degerre6 heat in Madrid! We controlled the game and deserved to win. We want to keep winning and every game we still have the hunger and desire.”

Bale is also expected to feature for Real Madrid who will face Barcelona at Camp Nou on Sunday in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
