Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is back training in the gym after an hamstring injury induced one month lay-off, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Balogun who pulled out of Nigeria's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier this month against South Afrbattlked out, training in the gym in Germany under the guidance of physical trainer, Ellery Cario as he battled to regain full fitness ahead of the start of the new season
The 28-year-old defender was pleased to spend time in the gym with his former teammate Kevin Prince Boateng.
"Always great to work out with the @prince09_ but this time we took it to another level thanks to @outlinetraining & @jg_training 🏽🏽🏽 #TheHustle," Balogun wrote beneath a picture he posted on Instagram with the German born Ghanian midfielder after the session.
Both players were teammates at German side, Hertha Berlin from 2004 to 2007 before they departed for different clubs.
Balogun made 21 (17 in the Bundesliga) appearances for Mainz last season in all competitions.
Only on Tuesday, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme who also missed Nigeria's 2-0 loss to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa returned to training after being out of action since March.
