FC Barcelona of Spain beach soccer team Sunday retained the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer title after annihiliating youngsters, Pepsi Academy 9-2 as the fith edition of the tournament came to a fitting end at the Eko Atlantic Beach, Lagos.
The reigning European beach soccer kings scored three in each period while the blue shirted Pepsi youngsters scored once in the second and third periods of the thrilling game.
Barcelona won all their three games in the competition to amass nine points.
In the other match decided earlier, Shooting Stars of Ibadan shown brightly in the clash with fellow NPFL side, Kano Pillars, to run out 8-3 winners.
Shooting, who emerged runners-up in the four-team club challenge, also scooped the Most Valuable Player award when Ayo Ayinor was selected as the MVP award winner.
Ayinor said it was a delightful experience scooping the MVP award in his club's first participation in the Copa LagosBeach Soccer tournament.
"For us, it was a good experience and having to beselected as the Most Valuable Player is something I'm very proud of," Ayinor who was once invited to the Super Sand Eagles camp said.
