Ross Barkley is determined to make his mark on the biggest stage with Chelsea in order to win back a place in the England squad. The 24-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge in January 2018 after making 179 appearances for Everton during eight years at the Merseyside club.
Injury prevented the midfielder from playing during his final four months with the Toffees while he enjoyed only four outings for the Blues in the second half of last season and missed out on the World Cup in Russia as a result.
Barkley has not played for England for almost two-and-a-half years while he was last in the Three Lions squad in March 2017 and has yet to play a single minute under Gareth Southgate.
However, far from getting too down about the situation, the Liverpool-born schemer is now eager to show what he can do in west London and make it impossible for Southgate to overlook him any more.
“These things happen in football and you have got to take them,” he said. “I was injured and then I wasn’t in the squad. But you have just got to react in the right, positive way. I feel like I have done that. It’s important I let my football do the talking now.
“I have got a platform. I’m at a massive club in Chelsea and we are going to challenge for all the titles this season. I believe that. I want to let my feet do the talking for my club and if that happens, I believe I will be back on the international scene sooner rather than later.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
