Morocco bounced back from their opening day defeat to Senegal by thrashing Libya 9-3 in the Group B match-day 2 of the 2016 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The defeat means Libya are the first team to crash out of this year's Beach Soccer AFCON after losing their first two games of the tournament. They lost to the defending champions Madagascar on Tuesday.
In the first period, Libya took the lead through Mohamed Jilwal but Bilal Essadi and Issam Tamsamani both scored to give Morocco a 2-1 lead.
Still in the first period, Jilwal equalised for Libya to make it 2-2 before Yacine Beumamma added a third goal to make sure Morocco ended the period 3-2 up.
The second period was a hard-fought one between both sides, but Morocco got on the scoresheet via Ismail El Quariry to give his side a 4-2 lead.
Libya responded through Tariq Qutayt but Morocco hit back through Sami Iazal to finish the second period 5-3.
And in the third period Morocco dominated and scored three more goals through Iazal Anas Hadaoui and skipper Nassim Hadaoui (brace) to finish the game 9-3.
The Man of the Match award went to Morocco's skipper Hadaoui who had an outstanding game scoring two goals.
Morocco will take on Madagascar in a must win game on Thursday to stand a chance of advancing into the semi-finals.
Libya will take on Senegal also on Thursday.
