Defending champions Madagascar have crashed our of the ongoing 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations following their 2-1 loss to Morocco in a winner takes all clash Thursday night,Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Morocco finish second in Group B and join Senegal in the semi-finals.
It was a close affair in the first period between the two teams which failed to register any goal.
But in the second period, Morocco broke the deadlock in the fourth minute through Azzedine Hamidy.
Morocco doubled their lead in the sixth minute this time off Yacine Benmamma.
With seconds remaining in the second period, Raza Ymelda gave Madagascar hope by reducing the deficit going into the final period.
Madagascar went out to level the score but couldn't go past the Moroccan defence who smoothered every attack thrown at them.
With few minutes left, Madagascar were awarded a penalty following a handball by a Moroccan defender but the opportunity was lost.
Madagascar threw everything in the last seconds of the game but the Moroccans held on to win the game.
