Bernardo Silva is the latest Manchester City player now being considered for an improved long-term deal.
Bosses at the Etihad are understood to to be ‘delighted’ with how the silky Portugal international has come to terms with life in England, following his £43m arrival from Monaco last year.
Bernardo is now a key player for Pep Guardiola, who is believed to feel he will eventually step into the shoes of his namesake and City legend David Silva.
The Citizens tied down goalkeeper Ederson and striker Gabriel Jesus to new deals earlier this year – despite the duo arriving around the same time as Bernardo.

The Premier League champions have confirmed they are now deep into negotiations with winger Leroy Sane over a new five-year deal and Bernardo is not expected to be too far behind.
The 24-year-old initially struggled with the physicality of the game in the Premier League but has been a standout performer during the early months of the new campaign, with City believing they got a bargain and planning to put him further out of bounds in the not-too-distant future.
