–Rejects City’s £70k offer
Wilfried Bony wants £200,000 a week to sign for Manchester City. Swansea have agreed a £30million fee with City for the Ivory Coast hitman.
But Bony, 26, is determined not to sell himself short, with City understood to have offered only £70,000 a week.
The striker’s representatives have been talking terms but are far from happy with what is currently on the table.
Bony, currently on £50,000 a week at Swansea, is heading off to the African Nations Cup along with City’s star midfielder Yaya Toure.
And he is well aware that his pal earns £240,000 a week at the Etihad.
Bony also knows he could command bigger wages if other clubs come in.
However, if terms are agreed, City will give Bony a medical in Abu Dhabi — where Ivory Coast are training ahead of the competition in Equatorial Guinea.
Etihad boss Manuel Pellegrini has been forced to move for Swansea’s record £12m buy because of Sergio Aguero’s knee injury.
James Milner has been playing as an emergency striker and there are fears over whether Aguero will last the season when he returns.
City will try to sell Edin Dzeko or Stevan Jovetic to free up a space for Bony to play in the Champions League and to help with Financial Fair Play restrictions.
