Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has paid tribute to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ahead of their Premier League clash on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries are 16th in the English Premier League table with no point on board while City are fifth with four points after one win and one draw in two games.
Howe said at Friday’s press conference: “I’ve found Pep Guardiola to be a very intelligent, very nice guy who is football obsessed. I’ve been very impressed with him.”
Howe also talked to the media on potential signings at the club with the August 31 deadline day looming: “You’re always judging the squad on training and matches. We don’t feel any need to add to it currently.
“The positive thing from the week is that several players played well. So I’ll have to think hard about the team I pick.”
Howe was excited about his team’s 2-1 Carabao (EFL Cup) win over Birmingham: “Whenever you win a game, you get a good feeling no matter what the competition.
“It was good to see us score and we created a number of chances against Birmingham so that was good to see. We need to make sure that this weekend with the quality of opposition we fight well.”
