Brazil Coach Tite Disappointed With Draw Versus Switzerland

Brazil head coach Tite has expressed his disappointment following the Selecao’s 1–1 draw against Switzerland in their Group E encounter at the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The five-time winners took the lead in the 20th minute courtesy of a wonderful strike from Philippe Coutinho but they were denied maximum points when Steven Zuber’s header from a  corner kick hit the  back of the net.

The former Corinthians coach also refused to blame the team’s marking for the goal conceded.

“My expectation was to win. No, I am not happy with the result.” Tite told reporters after the game.

“We conceded because of a fault, not because of bad positioning or poor tactical awareness.”

He also believed his team should have had a penalty in the game following the challenge on Miranda.

“Miranda told me after the game, ‘maybe I should have fallen down so the referee gives the foul’. I told him no, I don’t want any characteristics of diving in my team,” he added.

“Gabriel Jesus’ penalty appeal could be interpreted differently by referees, but Miranda situation was very clearly a foul which was not given.”

The South Americans will face Costa Rica in their next game on Friday
