“The 27-year-old was forced to come off after just over an hour and is being monitored by the Iceland medical staff with his country’s next group game to come against Nigeria, who lost their opening match to Croatia, in Volgograd on Friday.”

Iceland assistant coach Helgi Koldvidsson has also confirmed Gudmundsson’s injury but refused to rule him out of the game.
