Burnley Thankful To Hart Hfter Win

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was reluctant to heap too much praise on goalkeeper Joe Hart after the win over Istanbul Basaksehir. The Clarets needed a well-worked goal from Jack Cork in extra time to go through to the next round to take on Greek side Olympiakos in a two-legged play-off, with the winners qualifying for the group stage.

The 31-year-old, left out of England’s squad for this summer’s World Cup, was on hand to deny Edin Visca and Kerim Frei as he kept his third clean sheet since his move to the club for £3.5million from Manchester City.

Dyche was keen for Hart not to become the focal point of the Clarets’ season.

“I’m surprised you’re not fed up, we’ve been talking about him for two weeks,” Dyche told reporters after the match.

“I made a lot of the display of the team. There were a lot of really good performances and they deserve just as many mentions.

“But Joe definitely played his part, just so you’re happy.”
