Zamalek will be without two key players Ahmed Tawfik and Mohamed Nassef for Sunday's first leg, first round CAF Champions League home tie against Nigerian champions Enugu Rangers.
According to ahram.org.eg, midfielder Tawfik, 25, will be sidelined due to a tear in his ankle, while 30-year-old left-back Nassef, who is a former Ahly player, suffered a tear in his foot.
Zamalek lost 3-1 on aggregate to South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns in last year's final of the CAF Champions League.
The last time Zamalek won the CAF Champions League was in 2002.
Meanwhile, Rangers will depart for Egypt on Thursday ahead of the first leg tie billed for Sunday.
