Indomitable Lions of Cameroon coach Thomas Finke has warned his players to take Sunday’s international friendly against Nigeria’s Super Eagles very seriously, according to Camfoot.
The German coach, who monitored the team’s Tuesday morning training at the Sports Complex RRC Waterloo, Belgium, said the top grade friendly with the Super Eagles is needed to help the Lions fine-tune their preparation ahead of the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Gambia and more importantly 2018 World Cup qualifiers which get underway in November this year.
“Finke has reminded his players the importance of the regrouping in Belgium,” Vincent De Paul Atangana, Indomitable Lions media officer, said.
“He told his players that the friendly with Nigeria is important and it is to prepare the team for 2018 World Cup qualifiers which begins in November.”
Cameroun rekindle their age-long rivalvary against Nigeria in an international friendly Belgium on Sunday after the Super Eagles face Congo DR on Thursday.
The essence of the two games according to coach Sunday Oliseh is to help him get his team ready to face Djibouti or Swaziland in 2018 World Cup qualifiers in November.
