Newcastle Coach John Carver has assured Sammy Ameobi that he has a future at the club following his performance against Hull City.
Ameobi who graduated from the Newcastle Academy has been of great help to the club and this has made it difficult for the management of the club to allow him leave.
The winger’s contract is up at the end of the season and with no permanent head coach in place could be facing uncertainty this summer.
However, head coach John Carver feels he can be part of the club’s plans going forward if he can reproduce the display he served up in the 3-0 win at Hull City.
Ameobi scored a cracking goal at the KC Stadium which could be a goal of the month contender.
Carver told the BBC after the game: “He’s knuckled down, he’s got a lot to learn but he has ability.
“I took him off because he was tired but he did work hard for the team.
“But he has a future – as long as he is prepared to put in performances like that.”
