Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani has been voted man of the match in the country’s 2-1 win against Portugal in their 2018 FIFA World Cup second round tie in Sochi on Saturday.
It was the first time he will be picking up the award in the competition.
The Paris Saint-Germain star netted a brace in the encounter to hand the South Americans the win with Pepe on target for the Portuguese.
Cavani went off injured in the second half and will hope to be fit for Uruguay’s quarter-final fixture against France on Friday.
He has netted 45 times in 105 appearances for his country.
