Celtic defender Efe Ambrose was Public Enemy No.1 among the Hoops faithful, many of whom have had enough of the Nigerian.
First up was Pat Thompson, who said: “There’s light at the end of the tunnel. Celtic have a real chance of a fightback on Wednesday without Ambrose in the side because the Nigerian is nothing more than a liability.”
James Jones, Royston, said: “How many more times can Ambrose cock-up in before he’s shown the door?
“Neil Lennon found that out to his cost when Ambrose blew the Champions League last 16 tie against Juventus at home in jig time a couple of seasons ago.
“It has to be the end of the road for the Nigerian at Celtic because he’s absolutely brutal.”
Ian Johnstone, Edinburgh, said: “Efe Ambrose should change his name to Effin Useless.
“He’s the worst central defender I have seen at Celtic Park since Willie Garner scored two own goals on his debut – and that’s saying something.”
Paul Bryceland, Hamilton, said: “Ambrose is one of the game’s great thinkers. He thinks he’s a player.”
Michael Sheerin, Liverpool, said: “What are Celtic doing playing meaningless friendlies when their Champions League qualification hopes hang by a thread?
“The debacle of the tour in the USA a few years ago should have taught them a lesson.
“All Celtic are interested in is hawking themselves around anywhere in the world for a fast buck.”
Meanwhile, Rangers fan Davie Semple, Ayr, said: “Bilel Mohsni and Efe Ambrose must be having a competition to see who can be the worst foreign player to ever ply their trade in Scotland.
“You could not construct a decent defender out of the spare parts of either of these guys.
“Rangers and Celtic supporters’ hearts are in their mouths whenever they get the ball and you just wonder what they’re going to do next.
“It appears to be a total lottery playing both of them as the respective managers Ally McCoist and Ronnie Deila are finding out to their cost.”
