The second legs of the UEFA Champions League play-offs will be decided on Tuesday and Wednesday with some Nigerian players expected to be in action for their respective clubs.
On Tuesday, Nosa Igiebor’s Maccabi Tel Aviv will entertain Basel after playing a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Switzerland.
Igiebor, who got booked in the 70th minute of the first leg, was replaced by Dor Peretz on 71st minute.
At the Stade Louis II, Elderson Echiejile should be in action for AS Monaco as they welcome Valencia who hold a comfortable 3-1 lead from the first leg. Echiejile was in action for 90 minutes at the Estadio de Mestalla.
Also on Tuesday, Efe Ambrose and Celtic will take a slim 3-2 advantage to Sweden when they will be guests of Malmo. Ambrose was introduced for Mikael Lustig with 10 minutes remaining during the first leg.
On Wednesday, in-form Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa and his team, CSKA Moscow, will hope to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit against Sporting Lisbon inside the Arena Khimki, in Russia.
Musa who scored his third league goal of the season for CSKA against Rostov on Saturday, was on for 90 minutes in the first leg but couldn’t find the back of the net.
And in Germany, Lazio with Ogenyi Onazi will travel to the Bay Arena to take on Bayern Leverkusen.
In the first leg, Lazio beat Leverkusen 1-0, with Onazi coming off for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on 53 minutes.
