By Johnny Edward: Home Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has ruled out goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai and midfielder Eneji Moses from the squad to face Libya in Friday’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) clash, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
Salisu revealed during his pre-match conference on Thursday that Plateau United’s Eneji Moses is nursing an ankle injury he sustained in the first game while Enyimba’s Afelokhai copped a shoulder injury during training prior to their opening clash against Rwanda.
“We just have two injuries ahead of the game Afelokhai and Eneji. They will not play the game against Libya but we hope they will be fit for our final game against Equatorial Guinea,” Yusuf said.
Nigeria’s Home Eagles have one point from their opening game with Rwanda and will look beat group leaders Libya in their second group game on Friday to brighten their chances of qualifying for the next round of the competition.
