Chelsea Boss Sarri Insists Real Madrid Target Hazard Not Ready For 90 Minutes Vs Newcastle

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says that Eden Hazard is not yet ready for 90 minute action for their Sunday’s Premier. League clash with Newcastle United, and remains confident that Belgium captain will stay at the Stamford Bridge for another full season after being distracted by the recent summer transfer talks

Hazard has been linked with a move away from the club with European champions, Real Madrid reportedly keen on the Belgium captain.

Sarri reveals during his pre-match press conference on Friday that the 27 year old is not ready to play the entire duration of a game at the moment.

“I don’t know, I think Eden is ready for 50/60 minutes, I don’t know about 90 minutes but he can start,” Sarri said ahead of The Blues’ game against Newcastle United on Sunday.

“I think so, because I am the coach of a very good team and a great club. I think it is such an important club and it cannot sell an important player without the possibility to buy a player of the same level. I think Eden stays all season.”

On Reuben Loftus-Cheek’s future Sarri said: “I decided to put two wingers and only one midfielder on the bench. I have spoken with him twice this week, after I spoke with the club. I think Loftus-Cheek will remain with us, we can speak again about him but only in December.

“Maybe, but I think my mind it is more important. I am happy with him if he wants to play. I think it is the right way to think for him, but I have to think for everybody.”

He also revealed that Gary Cahill needs more defensive training.

“I think in this moment, for a defender, it is more difficult to play in my team. Especially after only 20 days in training, for offensive players it is easier but for defenders it is more difficult. He needs more defensive training with us.

“I work on it every week. I am not worried about the defensive phase. Usually when I arrive at a new club, I have problems for two-three months, I think it is normal.” I can’t play with five defenders.”
