Chelsea have confirmed Branislav Ivanovic’s move to Zenit St Petersburg on a free transfer.
The move was completed on Wednesday with Ivanovic, 32, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Russian club.
Commenting to his move, Ivanovic said: “I am motivated and I think that I can play for many more seasons at the top level.
“I can say that I am excited to be here and everything went smoothly.
“I have to get used to the team and get physically ready for the upcoming official and important matches.”
Ivanovic joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008 under Avram Grant and has since featured 376 times, scoring 34 goals.
The 32-year-old has played 16 times this season following the appointment of Antonio Conte in the summer, scoring in a 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over Brentford last Saturday, which proved to be his last appearance for the club.
During his eight years with Chelsea, Ivanovic helped the club win two Premier League titles (2010, 2015) three FA Cups (2009, 2010, 2012) one League Cup (2015) the Europa League (2013) and the UEFA Champions League (2012).
