Former Super Eagles of Nigeria technical adviser, Johannes Bonfrere has been appointed head coach of Chinese League One side Baoding Yingli Yitong as their new head coach on a one-year contract, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Dutchman had two stints with Nigeria, having managed the Super Eagles from1995 and 1996, and was in charge of Nigeria's U-23 side that won the 1996 Olympics gold.
Jo Bonfrere takes over from Zhao Changhang who was sacked following a string of poor results by the side.
Yitong are currently in the 14th position in the 16 team CL 1 table having recorded two wins from 10 league games this season.
They lost their last game on Sunday, 3-1 against Xinjiang Tianshan.
The former South Korea national team coach once had stints with Chinese sides, Dalian Shide and Henan Jianye.
