–Says a draw will hand the Red Devils 2015 AFCON ticket
Congo coach Claude Le Roy has boasted that his team will avoid a defeat to Nigeria and seal a place in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations at the expense of the champions.
Le Roy’s men have already beaten Nigeria once in the group so far – running out 3-2 winners in Calabar – and the French man believes a draw in the game between Sudan and South Africa will take the Red Devils to next year’s competition.
And the Frenchman is bullish going into tomorrow’s clash as he seeks to qualify for AFCON at the Super Eagles.
“If we qualify, it will be a real achievement,” Le Roy Jeuneafrique.com.
“I’m sure that we shall qualify for next year’s Nations Cup because we are not going to lose at home to Nigeria.
“The magic for us was beating Nigeria in Calabar that result was so crucial for us and we are not going to let our effort go in vain when Nigeria comes to Congo.”
“If Sudan does not win in South Africa, a draw would be enough for us and if we lose 1-2, but we win in Sudan on November 19, it is still qualified. But playing for a draw, I do not know how.”
