The Portuguese clubs of Nigerian duo of Nwankwo Obiora and Simeon Nwankwo are not having the best of times in the Primeira Liga and both players would hoping for a change of fortunes as the Primeira League get halfway.
Obiora plies his trade with Academica while Nwankwo stars for Gil Vicente. But despite their personal good showings for their respective clubsides, their efforts has not been too impactful on their clubs standing on the league table.
Obiora’s regular displays has not helped much for Academica who pegged in the 16th place on the 18-team table with paltry 12 points – just a step above the drop zone while Nwankwo’s goalscoring feats as an attacker (with 5 goals to his credit) has also not counted much for Gil Vicente who are currently enmeshed in relegation waters coming last on the log with just 10 points.
Tomorrow, Academica will be home against Maritimo while Gil Vicente will be hosting Vitoria Setubal and a home win for both teams would help their survival ambitions.
