Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has been tipped by Completesportsnigeria.com’s users to become Nigeria’s next FA Community Shield winner ahead of his national teammate Alex Iwobi.
Arsenal and Chelsea will meet in Sunday’s traditional season opener between the Premier League champions and FA Cup winners at Wembley Stadium with both Moses and Iwobi expected to feature for their respective clubs.
In last season’s FA Cup final, Arsenal stunned 10-man Chelsea 2-1 with Moses sent off for a dive.
And in a pre-season game played a few weeks back, Chelsea thrashed Arsenal 3-0.
In a poll conducted on Completesportsnigeria. com’s Twitter handle, @CompleteSports, Moses got 54 per cent of the votes cast by the users.
On his part, Iwobi who was not far off, received 46 per cent votes from the users.
Five other Nigerian players, past and present, who have won the FA Community Shield include Daniel Amokachi in 1995 with Everton, Nwankwo Kanu with Arsenal in 1999 and Celestine Babayaro who won it in 2000 with Chelsea.
The other two former Nigerian winners are current Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi with Chelsea in 2009 and Iwobi in 2015 with Arsenal.
