Warri Wolves forward Gbolahan Salami has voiced his disappointment following his side's exit from this year's CAF Confederation Cup.
The Paul Aigbogun led side earned a 3-1 win against Congo outfit,AC Leopards on saturday but exited the competition 4-3 on aggregate.
And Salami who scored a brace for the seasiders in the encounter is unhappy with the manner of their exit despite the efforts put in by the players.
The former Shooting Stars hitman however said the experience garnered from their participation in the competition will serve them well in future. '
"Everyone in the club is disappointed that we are out despite all what we put into game,'' stated the Nigeria international in a chat with completesportsnigeria.com.
''We went into the game full of confidence and gave our all but unfortunately we couldn't scale through.
"We can take consolation in the way we battled back in the second half even aftet we conceded that own goal.
"The experienced we gained in the competition this year will be vital for us in future."
Salami will have little time to dwell on the setback as he is expected return to the Super Eagles camp to continue preparations for June 13 2017 AFCON qualifier against Chad.
He revealed to completesportsnigeria.com that he is upbeat the former African Champions will kick-start their journey to Gabon 2017 on a sounding footing.
''We are battle ready for Chad and I don't see Chad stopping us."
