Nigeria U-23s opponents in Sunday’s Olympic Games qualifier, Congo, are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Friday.
The spokesman of the Nigeria Football Federation Ademola Olajire told completesportsnigeria.com that the Congolese FA had informed the NFF that the visitors will arrive in the country on Friday for the match billed to hold inside the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
According to Olajire, the Congolese who defeated Ghana to make it to this round of qualifiers will be received by the officials of the FA on arrival before they move to Port Harcourt for the match.
“They have informed us that they will be coming to the country on Friday and we have made all necessary arrangements to receive them just as we are prepared for the match,” Olajire told completesportsnigeria.com.
The winners of the tie between Nigeria and Congo will qualify for the CAF African U-23 Championship in Senegal, from where the continent’s Rio 2016 representatives will emerge.
