Conte Celebrates, Admits Chelsea Won Difficult Game Vs West Brom

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has praised his Chelsea players for grinding out a 1-0 win against a very stubborn West Bromwich Albion side at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

After being frustrated by West Brom for most part of the game, Diego Costa finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute.

Reflecting on the game, Conte stated that he was not surprised with the way the game panned out.

"It was a very difficult game, but I knew it would be," Conte said.

"I'm pleased as my team showed great maturity to find a way to break through and kept a clean sheet.

"This type of win is the type I like to see with my team fighting as much as  West Brom did."

Despite Chelsea winning their ninth straight game, Conte said he was unperturbed, rather he was more interested in his team maintaining their winning run.

Conte also hailed Cesc Fabregas' impact in the Chelsea win.

"I'm not interested on records for best winning runs but I'm interested in keeping this run going.

"There is still a possibility for my team to improve, but the only way that will happen is through work.

"Fabregas is a very important player who allowed me to change the cards on the table."
