Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has refused to be drawn on reports that Nigeria captain Mikel Obi is not in his plans, reports Completesportsnigeria.com
The midfielder whose contract will end at the end of the season is yet to feature in a competitive game for the Blues this season.
There are rumours he will leave the West London side at the end of the campaign having been shunned by Conte in all Chelsea games since his return from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where he helped Nigeria U-23s pick the bronze medal.
"In every squad there are players who arrive at the end of their contract and then together the club will take a decision," the Italian stated in his pre-match conference ahead of Saturday's clash against Everton.
"The most important thing is that Mikel is working very well. I'm pleased with his work rate."
The former Juventus coach however failed to rule out Cesc Fabregas leaving the club in January.
"I think this type of situation it is too early to talk because Cesc is a Chelsea player and I'm very happy to have him in the squad.
"Now is important for him to recover well and find the right form and stay with us and with the team."
