Torino’s Nigerian midfielder, Joel Obi, is wary of the pair of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain ahead of his club’s Italian Cup (TIM Cup) quarter-final clash with holders, Juventus today (Wednesday) reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Higuaín has scored seven goals in nine matches for the Old Lady against Torino, including two doubles (one with Juventus and the other with Napoli), while Dybala has scored in all six Coppa Italia (TIM Cup) matches played at the Allianz Stadium since he joined Juventus.
Obi who is poised for his 18th Coppa Italia clash having featured for Inter Milan, Parma and Torino in the past, admits his side must be cautious going into the Allianz Stadium.
The Nigerian international was listed in the matchday squad along with his compatriot, Umar Sadiq, according to a report posted on the official website of Torino on Tuesday.
“This game will be tough, but the most important thing is to qualify,” Obi told Completesportsnigeria.com during an exclusive chat.
“They have good players that can hurt Torino, Dybala, Higuain and the rest, but we must be ready.”
So far this season, Joel Obi has scored twice in 11 Serie A appearances while Umar has featured three times for Torino this season.
Torino are 10th in the Serie A log with 25 points from 19 games.
The encounter is Torino’s first Coppa Italia (TIM Cup) quarter-final in nearly ten years. They last reached this stage in the 2008/09 season.
Torino defeated Trapani 7-1 in the third round of the competition back in early August before defeating Carpi in the fourth round in November.
Recall that Lazio and Milan have advanced to the TIM Cup semi-finals with their wins last week.
