Croatia forward Andrej Kramaric has picked the game against Super Eagles of Nigeria as his country’s most important in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
The Vatreni who were semi-finalists at the 1998 World Cup in France will face the three-time African champions in their first group game on Saturday at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
Zlatko Dalic’s men will face two-time world champions, Argentina, in their second group game but Kramaric does not believe the game against the South Americans who will be captained by the prodigiously talented Lionel Messi is as important as the clash with the Super Eagles.
“I think it is Nigeria. Why? Against Nigeria we play the first game, and for us it is the most important game,” the Hoffenheim striker who will celebrate his 27th birthday during the tournament said in an interview with FIFA’s official website
“That game will open or close the door of the World Cup for us! Therefore we need to apply our full concentration.
“Argentina? We don’t need to talk about Argentina, we all know the great footballers they have. They are one of the favourites for the tournament.”
