Croatia Legend, Suker: We are In Tough Group With Nigeria, Argentina,  others

Croatian legend Davor Suker has admitted that his country has been drawn in one of the toughest groups of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Zlatko Dalic’s side, Croatia, who are making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup and are currently ranked 17th in World football will face Nigeria, Iceland and Argentina in group D at the Mundial.

Suker who featured for Real Madrid and Arsenal during his playing career told the Croatia’s Football Federation offciala website hns-cff.hr that Nigeria and Argentina remains the reputable teams in the group judging by their pedigree.

“This may be the toughest group at the @FIFAWorldCup. Argentina, Iceland, and the Super Eagles. They are all very respectable opponents,”Suker was quoted on the Croatia’s Football Federation’s official website hns-cff.hr.

“No words to describe facing Lionel Messi, but we have to be proud of our achievement and believe in ourselves.”

The Croatians finished third in their World Cup debut at France 1998, but failed to advance from the group stage in 2002, 2006 and 2014 editions of the FIFA World Cup.
