Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo, bagged an assist in Changchun Yatai’s 3-2 win against champions Guangzhou Evergrande in a Chinese Super League clash on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ighalo who has been in fantastic form for Changchun Yatai since the resumption of the league following the World Cup break provided the pass for Tan Long’s winning goal on the dot of 90 minutes.
Yu Rui gave Changchun Yatai the lead in the 17th minute, but Guangzhou Evergrande managed by former Italy captain, Fabio Cannavaro grabbed two goals through Yang Liyu and Ricardo Goulart to head into the break with a slender lead.
Long equalised for the home team in the 84th minute before scoring the winner in the in the last minute of regulation time.
Ighalo has scored 12 goals and provided three assists
in 17 appearances for his club in the CSL this season
He is the joint top scorer in the CSL along with Ghanaian forward, Frank Acheampong who plays for Tiajin Teda.
