Dalung: President Buhari Can’t Defile Court Orders On NFF Crisis, DSS Excesses Will Be Sorted Out

Sports Minister Solomon Dalung has maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari will not disregard court rulings as it concerns the NFF leadership tussle.

The Department of State Security (DSS) re-instated the Amaju Pinnick led board back to the NFF office in Abuja on Monday after Chris Giwa had taken over the reins of the federation ten days ago following a Supreme Court ruling and orders of the Federal High Court in Jos on the Nigeria Football Federation on April 27, 2018.

Dalung described the action of the DSS as “an invasion” by security operatives of the Nigeria Football Federation offices.

In a statement signed by Dalung and made available to Completesportsnigeria.com Dalung insisted that nothing has changed.

“What happened in the NFF is security excesses, but it will be sorted out,” Dalung said.

“As far as I am concerned, nothing has changed. There is no development after the Supreme Court ruling of April 27, 2018 and the Federal High Court Order of 5th June 2018 because the court has not vacated the order,” the minister said.

“Those who are presently trying to instigate confusion, using the name of the President must be aware that the President cannot go against the rule of law.

“The order issued by the court has not been vacated and the President cannot vacate a court order because there are clear cut processes of doing that.”

“We want to assure Nigerians that Government is sorting out the grey areas but nobody should drag the name of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria into this.

“The President is an advocate of the rule of law and he cannot be associated with the security excesses of a breach of the rule of law.”

“The federal government is urging members of the public to remain calm as it is doing its best to resolve the crises in the Nigeria Football Federation.”

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has already initiated a process of trying to bring the stakeholders together, to work out a road map out of this quagmire.”

“The stakeholders’ meeting billed for Tuesday July 24, 2018 will still go ahead as planned.”

When a president gives order someone says the  president doesn’t know what is doing, this is an effrontery and should be addressed and action taken.

Dalung is obviously high on codeine …. can somebody upload his sack letter pls?

  • This is just like the action of a tapeworm. Very senseless. A tapeworm mercilessly sucks the blood off the host until it kills the host and is buried with it. But in this case, Nigeria will survive beyond these greedy fellows.

Dualong what are you still doing in that office of Minister for youths and sports? So, you are bigger than Nigeria? Somebody like you will always drag this country back. Just put in your resignation letter now.
How can sports grow under you? Stupid thing.

I am not surprised, this is what took Buhari a whole six months to give us,he just his brother giwa to be there at all cost or get us banned if he can’t get there, this is because, these people don’t like football And the things that give people joy. All they want is to steal money without minding the consequences.

  • Greenturf 4 months ago

So this sports minister wants fifa to ban us right.
Thank God Dalung is not our president because no one will remove Giwa in power and Nigeria will get banned.I know the consequences of the ban doesn’t bother him.
This man is the worst sports minister Nigeria ever had and how he’s still in power beats my imagination.
Apparently, we shall be fine without this man in power.
The president should as a matter of fact replace this incompetent man with a sports loving minister to head the federal ministry of youth and sports.
    God bless Nigeria.

  • This is the peak of Insanity. Abeg, Is Buhari not his boss again?? Fire him pls. Now he’s going against the President’s order. He’s daring the President kind of now

Sports minister that doesn’t understand fifa laws. I’m quite sure someone has explained to him the consequences of him and giwa’s action and to add that Giwa is already banned lol.

I have to be sure about this: do these people even read our reactions? Or are we just the ones reading our comments ourselves?

Solo Dalung, in case you don’t realize it, the Nigerian President just fired you because he just told you that you are not competent in giving him the right advice in football matters. My suggestion to NFF President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, today is, do not attend any meeting which Solo called. Solo has made his choice and invested in Giwa, Solo should live or die by that choice. Let Solo do his worst. If Solo thinks he can make a dead man walk, he go should go ahead. The rightful Nigerian President and the FIFA are there watching over him.

My fellow Nigerians, l must confess that for the first time since the debacle of Rohr Coaching failure during the World Cup , l was elated this morning (US time)that Our President has done what he should do by standing for Nigerian football by sacking Chris Giwa from that NFF Glass House in Abuja. Which means Nigeria will not be Banned by FIFA. Glory be to God. Amen. Everybody have a good day as l am doing.

    • Pls o,let’s verify solo and Giwa result we might find something.they have poor reading ability.

  • I now belief this man us taking side in the matter

  • Idara daniel 4 months ago

Bro Giwa and uncle Dalung don’t have concence about Nigeria.

  • Omo9ja 4 months ago

I do not blame Sports Minister Solomon Dalung but those who elected him as a minister of sports. A sports minister that knows nothing about sports? What does he minister?

This interview shows that Mr. Dalung is backing Mr. Giwa by all means to be the new NFF president while both of have failed woefully. They must be ashamed of themselves. Wicked people, God is watching. God bless Nigeria!!!

I sympathize with Chris Giwa. He felt he was cheated out of the President Chairman of the NFF seat. The story has it that Abuja as the capital of the country should host all elections. The first election held there was won by Chris Goes but was cancelled. But somehow the election was shifted to Delta state, the home of Amaju Pinnick and his in-laws as governor. It was heavily rigged to allow Amaju win. That is the beginning of the trouble in the glass house. Unfortunately, ‘many’ waters has passed under the bridge. Amaju Pinnick is doing well and loved by the fans, players, coaches, sponsors, organization affiliated to NFF and the presidency. But the damning point is that Chris Giwa is under FIFA/CAF ban!!!! Amaju might have a hand in the ban. Maybe Giwa know of this. So Giwa should just forget it and after serving the ban, he can recontest. For now the odds are heavily against him. Giwa has a good case but it is a sport family matter which CAS has decided. He should move ahead end forget all this.
