By Johnny Edward: Nigerian Professional Football League side (NPFL) club Akwa United will be travelling by air to their away games this season after an agreement was reached with Dana Air, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
NPFL clubs have had to travel long distances by Nigeria’s mostly rough roads with MFM FC and Kwara United already involved in crashes barely three weeks into the new season.
The deal between Dana Air and Akwa United is expected to be formalised on Friday, according to a tweet from the club’s official Twitter handle.
“We will be flying @DanaAir for away matches in the NPFL. The deal will be formalised on Friday February [email protected] @DanaAir,” the club revealed.
Akwa United are currently leading the NPFL table with 12 points after five games.
The Promise Keepers who won the Aiteo Cup last season will also be representing Nigeria in the 2017/18 CAF Confederation Cup competition.
