Peter Dedevbo who lead Nigeria’s Super Falconets to the final of the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada has been shortlisted for the FIFA World Coach of the Year award for women football in 2014.
Dedevbo’s team lost 1-0 to Germany in the final, the team that defeated Nigeria 2-0 in the same final in 2010 when they (Germany) hosted the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Other coaches nominated for the prize for the FIFA prize include Philippe Bergeroo(France, France national team); Laura Harvey (England, Seattle Reign FC); Ralf Kellermann (Germany, Vfl Wolfsburg); Maren Meinert (Germany, Germany U-20) and Norio Sasaki (Japan, Japan U-20).
The winner will emerge at the 2014 Balon d’ Or award night to be held on 12 January 2015.
