Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan General Manager, Rasheed Balogun is understood to be in high level talks with Oyo State government over his future at the club, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Balogun, a former Julius Berger, Sunshine Stars and Dolphins of Port Harcourt manager, was reported to have walked out on the club by stepping down from his post late Tuesday night.
But our checks has revealed that the man called ‘Kule Kule’ is still holding talks with the owners and financiers of the club with a view to understanding the government’s direction concerning the club this season.
“Truly, there were suggestions that Balogun had stepped down on Tuesday over frustration on issues not isolated with the funding of the club,” an official who does not want to be named because he was not authorized to speak on it told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“For instance, government is understood to have reduced the club’s subvention from N20m to N12m which cannot carry the club anywhere in the league.
“But right now, he’s in high level discussion with the government and we expect that before Thursday, they would have sorted things out.
“It is after the meeting that we’ll know if Balogun will carry out his decision to leave or stay.
“But as it stands now, he has not resigned ” the source told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Efforts to contact the Shooting Stars boss on his mobile phone did not yield any positive fruit as it was not connecting.
