–Isa Shofoluwe warns Eagles
Former Nigeria international, Isa Shofoluwe has charged the Super Eagles to make the nation proud by putting up a blistering performance this weekend against Congo in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Super Eagles are expected to depart the country’s shores on Thursday to honour the away match and the players have all assured that they will give their best in the encounter.
He said players with clear vision and total commitment should be fielded in the must win away match while charging them not to underrate the opponents.
“Players that know what to do with the ball should lead the assault at least the starting 11 should be our best rather than fielding any how players”.
It will be recalled the Super Eagles lost the first leg to the Congolese in Calabar 2-3 and currently sit third on the Group-A log having won just a game, losing two and draw one.
“Well, it’s disheartening not to have won that first leg encounter against Congo and particularly the first leg encounter against Sudan; we had all the chances to kill the game on our home soil against Congo but flaunted it”, says the ex-international
“Anyway, the team cannot afford to disappoint Nigerians again, we need to go all out and redeem our image as champions of Africa and giant of the whole black world”.
After the Saturday’s match, the Super Eagles will host South Africa in Uyo in the last round of the qualifiers.
