Former nigeria international, Joseph Dosu, has said that the sacking of Coach Stephen Keshi will have a negative impact on the Super Eagles.
Dosu posited that bringing in another coach would mean starting all over again.
“I think Keshi’s removal will have a negative effect on the team because the new coach will want to bring in new players to start all over again,” Dosu told completesportsnigeria.com.
“He would want to invite players that would play for him, which will mean another rebuilding process. And if you would agree with me, we’ve been rebuilding for ages and that is the reason we cannot get a stable national team.”
Dosu went on to state that the NFF should have over looked the issue, but however blamed Keshi for the sacking.
“I think the football federation should have looked over it and just move ahead from there. But they decided to dig deep and found out that he wrote an application to the Ivorian FA for the role of national team coach,” the Atlanta ’96 gold medallist added.
“And one thing is that when you have a contract somewhere, you don’t have the right to sign another contract somewhere else. You resign first before doing so. But in Keshi’s case, he applied without resigning which was a mistake on his part.”
