Drogba Out Of Arsenal Game

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has ruled Didier Drogba out of Sunday’s clash against Arsenal due to an ankle problem.

The Ivorian striker was not included in Chelsea’s Champions League squad for lastnight’s game against Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon.

Mourinho says Drogba suffered the injury in training and the Blues boss believes the 36-year-old is facing two weeks on the sidelines.

“Drogba’s going to be out for a couple of weeks,” Mourinho said at his press conference ahead of last night’s game.

“He had a problem in a training session in the ankle. Not possible to travel (to Lisbon) and I think not possible to recover for Sunday.”

The news will come as a relief to Arsenal, who have been tormented by Drogba on numerous occasions in the past.

The former veteran frontman netted 13 goals against the Gunners during his first spell at Chelsea, but Mourinho is hoping to start Diego Costa in Sunday’s game, with Loic Remy as his back-up.
