Nigeria D'Tigers forward Al-Farouq Aminu made his 500th NBA career appearance for the Portland Trail Blazers in a regular season as they recorded a 126-121 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the early hours of Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
It was Aminu's 41st appearance this season for the Blazers and 123rd since joining from the Dallas Mavericks in 2015 where he featured 74 times. He also played 222 games for the New Orleans Pelicans after turning out 81 times for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011.
Aminu scored 23 points with six rebounds, one assist and five three-pointers in 32 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets last Saturday. He then played for 30 minutes and scored 12
points and seven rebounds in Wednesday's encounter that saw Thunders' Russell Westbrook scoring a career high 58 points in the game.
Victor Oladipo also returned for the Oklahoma City Thunder after missing six games with back spasms and scored 16 points as his side suffered a fourth straight defeat in the NBA.
The Portland Trail Blazers, currently placed ninth in the Western Conference, one spot behind the play-off zone with 27 wins and 35 defeats, will host Philadelphia on Thursday at the Moda Center.
Aminu currently earns $7,680,965 per season and his annual salary will decrease by $361,930 every season till the expiration of his contract in 2018-19.
