Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have qualified for the final of the 2015 Afrobasket after defeating Senegal 88-79 in overtime.
After a gruelling encounter which saw both teams end the fourth quarter 76-76 to take the game into overtime, D’Tigers were able to do enough to edge the Senegalese and book their place in the final.
The last time they qualified for the final was in 2003.
Nigeria will meet 11-time champions Angola in Sunday’s final, after the Southern Africans defeated hosts Tunisia 58-51 in the second semi-final.
The Nigerians’ only loss in the tournament was in their last group game against Tuinisia.
