Omeruo who is looking forward to his 42nd international appearance for nigeria on Saturday is banking on the team’s great squad to make a success of their revenge mission following the Bafana’s 2-0 win in the reverse fixture last year.

“We are here for a win because our aim is to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” Omeruo said.

“They are a good side and they have a good record against us from the last two games but we will be up for the battle.

“I have confidence in the team and we will not disappoint Nigerians.”

  • Arriving a high altitude venue jus a day before match day is asking for trouble. I can foresee a South African win here. The Eagles are going to be outpaced because a single day is not just enough to adjust to a high altitude situation.
South Africa will just do the double on us and they will go around boasting about it

    • @ son, shut up where are u from.if u dnt knw what to commnt here u better shut, this south africans that is comenting here sef,s.a 0 Nigeria my country 3,okk see this same person called his name son is logn with name logan too infact u are a pure fake, taliban

    • @son. What is the different between the weather we are feeling here in Nigeria and the one in SA, just admit that you are a pessimist

  • Settle down, relax, and concentrate. Get the job done, ang get back safely. The sharp sting will silence these boastful South Africans for ever.

Any other player can play in this match but not Ken Omeruo, this guy contributed greatly for our first and second lost to South Africa, he is prone to errors…He maybe good in other matches but not against south africa.

  • Welcome to South Africa and thank God for the safe flight.
Pls somebody should tell our coachie, Rhor to mentain Iwobi in the attacking midfield position he played against Lybia. I don’t care who is our top nine, whether Osihmen or Success. Iwobi has got the sensational killer passes that breeds goals upfront. Sir Rhor pls give Osimhen the starting berth to prove his mettle. Plsss stop being afraid after all you can still make substitute afterwards. Osihmen and indeed the entire super eagles team will spring some pleasant display on Saturday, which will give us victory. Thanks. I wish the entire Super Eagles a resounding success on Saturday.
Omeruo pls try to always position yourself well behind your attackers to avoid being overrun by a fast attacker just as Messi did at the 2018 world cup. thanks

Omeruo does not have speed. This was openly displayed against Messi and Rantie in our matches with Argentina and South Africa. On current form he is good but his lack of speed is a cause for concern. I wish the SE a resounding win while hoping coach Rohr will make the right choices of players for each of the positions.

neither does leon balogun. but he makes up for his lack of pace with his great positional sense and understanding with ekong… Main thing is the win.We will get it!
