Eagles To Fly Discovery Air To Congo

The Super Eagles will jet out to Point Noire on Thursday aboard Discovery Airline for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo on Saturday, officials have revealed.

According to NFF source, the team of 21 players, officials and the general contingent made up government, NFF, supporters club, media and a few others from other states will make the trip.

“We have concluded plans with the Discovery airline to fly the team to Congo on Thursday and return to Nigeria immediately and move straight to Uyo for the match against South Africa on November 19.

“The NFF is not taking the Congo game lightly and will do everything possible to motivate the Super Eagles to get a win in Congo and qualify for AFCON in Morocco” the source further added.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are expected to begin training this afternoon with the expected arrival of all the invited players from Europe. The team could not train yesterday as the officials waited for the players to report.

Head Coach Stephen Keshi had invited 25 foreign and home based players to camp to prosecute the last two qualifying matches of the AFCON.
