Eagles Get Day Off, Nigerian Food In Austrian Camp

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, currently preparing for the 2018 World at their Bad Tatzmanndsdorf training camp in Austria, got a rare treat from coach Gernot Rorh when he gave the players Sunday afternoon off to allow family members visit and spend time with them.
According to Complete Sports sources in the Eagles’ camp, Sunday was declared Family Day and the players were let off immediately after morning training.
“The coach gave everybody the day off for wives, girlfriends and children to visit ahead of the trip to Russia on Monday. However, there will be normal training tomorrowmorning before we board the plane for Yessentuki (the team’s World Cup base Russia),” the source said.
To cap a last night in Austria, the Nigerian Embassy also brought Nigerian foods for the team as part of their sendforth to the World Cup.
“What coach Rorh did came as a surprise to the whole team and officials. This was the first and only time he would be allowing such since we opened our World Cup camp in Uyo last month,” the source concluded.
Nigeria will play Croatia in their opening group game on Saturday June 16, face Iceland on June 22 before rounding up the group games against Argentina on June 26 in St. Petersburg

    Our World Cup Party!

Expectedly Nigeria is presenting, for the first time in her history, an unprecedented profile of a most organized team to a Fifa event.
The organization is near perfect.. From six (6) grade A matches, to players’ welfare agreement, design & quality of jerseys, settlement of coaching crew & backroom staff, food arrangement, excellent lodgings, logistics & media cover.
The credit for this goes to the Nff leadership for being proactive, prompt & detailed.
And the Sport’s Ministry also, on behalf of the presidency for providing the enabling environment, & the Nigerian public in general for giving their undivided moral support to the National team.
With an atmosphere as this Nigeria fans don’t expect anything short of comprehensive victory from Eagles matches.
Howevee, Super Eagles & crew have left their teeming fans so disappointed from the shambolic displays in their recent friendlies.
Morals amongst fans at the moment are at the lowest ebb forcing many to maintain aloofness over the chances of the Eagles performing well at the WC event.
The deep pains from those friendly results particularly the loss to Czech republic was a bitter pill to swallow for many, and more so, coming from a defeat to England only four days earlier, and the woeful displays of its midfielders after a similar crash to Serbia. A match many Nigerians lost a fortune in stakes at fix-odds.
Fans are still licking their wounds but some are rather hoping that the crew must assuage their pains by being on top of their game against Croatia in a first campaign of make or break. It is a must win.. Eagles don’t have a Choice!
I personal carry an informed understanding as many others also who see things through a different prism.
The excuses provided for the loss by the Coach was blamed on logistics which didn’t fly with Nigerians.
They were same excuses too many..
Reading between the scripts we could deduce that the crew needed any excuse to dodge behind, as it continued in its mind-game to maneuver & distract its spying opponents.
Many Nigerians don’t believe in that though.
As much as we understand that team strategies are paramount & prioritized, we would urge the team to do all within its capabilities to shoot down the Croats and win back fans support, the respect of international community, and grossly declining team’s goodwill.
Finally, I will plead wit team Captain, Mikel Obi to ensure that harmony remains in the fold no matter what bcos it’s key to optimum performance.
We believe the current squad is the most organized, most harmonized & detailed in recent history.
In terms of strength, a section of Nigerians also believe that this team is the strongest technically, ever assembled by any coach, leading to a Fifa event.
We know SE are capable of Winning the WC trophy.
The friendlies results were not, and never, a true reflection of your strength.
Skippo, SE team cannot afford to disappoint Nigerians, bcos we know this team posses the quality to win and the potentials to beat the very best in the world and make Nigeria & Africa proud.
Eagles can beat Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Spain & France on a good day.
It is not beyond your abilities.
Take it one step each time, and seven steps in all to win the trophy.
The 2016 Olympic Gold miss was a mistake but you can correct that at the mundial.
Some still are in doubts as to your resolve but it’s over to the team to prove them wrong..
Go and prove them wrong, we are 1000% behind this TEAM.
    Godbless the Super Eagles!

Already ,some have written u guys (players) off just because u guys perform poorly in friendly matches. but i want people to remember these “saying” much expecially for those who loss hope and faith on S E so far…
    * success comes to those that are not ashamed to admit defeat and try again
    * the word impossible is not in my dictionary
    * its either u fine a way or make one
    * courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph
    * Trying out new things might be the secret ingredient to success
    * never say never……

i believed my super eagle urs super eagle can do it …

Too much Ebe with afor soup will do you in. Just eat little rice with vegetable without any meat will make body look like Ndidi or Iwobi.

  • As power food, nothing beats plantain. The Cameroonians use it to good effect. It releases energy constantly, keeping players fully agile for over 90 minutes.
