Nigeria have moved up one spot in the FIFA world rankings for a second consecutive month with the Eagles without a coach now in 41st place,still behind the likes of Senegal and Cape Verde.
The Super Eagles were ranked the 43rd best in the world and ninth in Africa at the start of the year 2015 but moved up a step last month to 42nd in the world and two steps to seventh in Africa.
This month,Nigeria moved up one step again to 41st in the world but still retained their number seven status in the continent. Algeria lead the way in Africa followed by current Africa champions Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia,Senegal and Cape Verde in that order.
Meanwhile, 2010 World Cup winners and reigning European champions Spain have fallen out of the top 10 in FIFA’s rankings for the first time since 2007.
World Cup winners Germany is still No 1 ahead of Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The only change in the top 10 is that Italy rise two places up to 10th, while Spain drop one spot to 11th.
