ROUND-UP: Iheanacho Ends 14-Month Drought As Eduok, Umar Score; Aina, Odey In Action

By Johnny Edward: Super Eagles star Victor Moses was an unused substitute for Chelsea who returned to winning ways defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first English Premier League goal since December 2016 on Saturday in Leicester City’s 4-1 win over West Brom.
The Nigerian international was subbed on for the Shinji Okazaki and made an assist before scoring his side’s third goal, his first for Leicester in the Premier League after his goals in cup competitions.
The goal ended his 14-month drought in the English Premier League.
His compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, made his 30th start for Leicester City.
In Turkey, Aminu Umar scored his fifth league goal of the season for Osmalispor who defeated Bursaspor 2-1 in a Turkish Super Lig game.
The game was his 23rd of the campaign. Shehu Abdulahi and Mikel Agu both featured for Bursaspor from start to finish.
Nigerian forward Emem Eduok bagged his seventh league of the Turkish season for Kasimpasa who forced Sivasspor to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
It was Eduok’s first goal after firing blanks in his last six league games.
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was also in action for the whole game.
In the English Championship, Super Eagles defender Ola Aina played 90 minutes in Hull City’s 4-3 win over Norwich on Saturday.
Aina has played 36 games so far for Hull this season.
Nigeria forward Sone Aluko played as a lone striker for Reading who were held to a 2-2 draw by Leeds United at the Majeski Stadium.
It was Aluko’s 21st game in the Championship for Reading since he joined in the summer.
In Spain, Nigerian pair Isaac Success and Brown Ideye were both introduced in the 78th minute as ten man Malaga lost 2-0 to Barcelona in a LaLiga Santander game on Saturday.
Ideye has made seven appearances with a goal while Success has three to his name.
At the Stade de la Beaujoire Stadium in France, Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem played all 90 minutes for Nantes who edged out Troyes 1-0 in a Ligue 1 clash on Saturday.
In Holland, Nigeria’s Rio 2016 hero Sadiq Umar played all 90 minutes for NAC Breda who defeated Tyronne Ebuehi’s ADO Den Haag 2-0 at the Cars Jeans Stadium. Super Eagles right-back Ebuehi was replaced after 67 minutes.
In Switzerland, former MFM striker Stephen Odey came on for Adrien Winter at half time in FC Zurich’s 3-0 win over Lugano who benched Stanley Amuzie for the whole match.
Odey has scored twice in seven games since joining the club.

    Give Cyriel Dessers a serious look to see where he fits in. Cyriel deserves any opportunity he may get to be called to play for Nigeria.
