Ebuehi Helps Den Haag End Winless Run With Win Vs Vitesse

By James Agberebi: Nigeria defender Tyronne Ebuehi was in action for ADO Den Haag who ended their three-match winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie on Thursday night.
Prior to the match against Vitesse, ADO Den Haag last won a league game back in December 22, a 4-0 home victory against PEC Zwolle.
Following the resumption of the second half of the league on January 16, ADO Den Haag had secured two draws and a loss.
In the game against Vitesse on Thursday, Sheraldo Becker scored the only goal in the 53rd minute to give ADO Den Haag the win.
The win took ADO Den Haag to the eighth position on 31 points in the 18-team league table.
Ebuehi has now made 22 league appearances for ADO Den Haag so far this season.

Think this guy is better than Sehu Abdulahi in that right back position. My thought though.

    @Tayo,
    I completely agree with you.
After Nig v Arg friendly, I thought that Rohr has finally got a style and the right team for an alternative to our usual 442 style.
Three more revelations that happened in the second half of that game are:
John our is a better DM than Onazi, he can hold ball , drible and pass better than ballooning the ball up front like Onazi always do.
Idowu was promising as #3, very mobile.
Uzoho should be given the opportunity to man our post for the world cup. If we do, Man United, Arsenal, Real Madrid etc will scramble for him after the mundial..
Furthermore, one two passes and strike between our players should be the new pattern, the three goals between Iwobi and Idowu, informed this conclusion.
I will suggest Joel Obi as another DM.
    Go SE go.

@Cj, I totally agree with your analysis, except the Joel Obi part (too prone to injury and could be a minus 1). But, mheen, give it up for Ebuehi. Shehu Abdullahi is good and helps in the attack, but Ebuehi is in another class. Not sure I’ve seen another sharper SE player in a long while. He should own that right back position. Perhaps Rohr should deploy Shehu in another position or make him sit on the bench.

Another classic revelation for me is Idowu Bryan. He should be the first choice for left back, ahead of Aina and Echeijile. And 1-2, tiki-taka style that was adopted in the game versus Argentina suits us best. It had the Albicsetes in sixes and sevens. Something tells me the world in in for a shock from Nigeria come June. Even Nigerians won’t be able to recognize their team again. LOL.

  • Onazi may not be too fanciful but his work rate is super. Man City have a Brazilian that works his heart out but is not is not popular. Real Madrid has one Croatian but he is not too popular. ManU has one Matic but he is not too popular. Leicester has one too. Onazi is in that class of players that work their hearts out but their position does not make them popular. But people with football knowledge recognized their importance. Gernot Rohr recognized it and so Onazi will always be there.

@djch, do you work with the NFF or you’re the sec-gen? While 70% of your analysis/contributions are on point, please let’s not condone mediocrity and say some things as they are. My major pint was the way you get defending the bungling, wobbly, fumbling CHAN team (which wobbled and fumbled into the final and got badly exposed by the Morrocan home team, who by the way don’t make up their first 11 like Nigeria).

I may just be a regular SE fan (I don’t claim to have so much technical knowledge maybe like you), but something I observed about Onazi espcially after he recently got married is that he added to much weight and became heavy on the ground. But Mikel maintained his good physique and never seem to get old at all (all his Hollad U-20 2005 mates like Taiwo, Obinna and Ogbuke have all practially retired).

Maybe Rohr should bench Onazi and try out Shehu in that position, while Ebuehi owns the right back permanently. What do you think?

I like ebuehi to play our rb but i wil prefer a fit joel to onazi, while ndidi do the dirty job. But shehu qualified us and dat might give him an edge
