Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi, has expressed disappointment on his injury setback but hopes to emerge from the situation stronger, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Benfica of Portugal right-back suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee in training early this week and is expected to spend several months on the sidelines.
The 22-year-old linked up with Benfica earlier in the summer following the expiration of his contract with Dutch club, ADO Den Haag where he rose through the Academy to become an integral part of the first team.
“After each disappointment, there will be a blessing. It’s still hard to realize what happened a few days ago, and not being able to play for a long time, but I have to accept it and move on,” reads a tweet attributed to Ebuehi on the official Twitter handle of Benfica on Friday.
“I want to thank everyone for the messages and prayers! I’ll come back stronger! “.
Ebuehi featured in one matchl for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
