–Eagles defender confident Monaco can reach knock out stage
Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile says he’s highly is excited over his French Ligue 1,Monaco’s away win over Bayern Leverkusen in the match day 5 of the UEFA Champions League Wednesday night.
The Nigerian left wing back saw 90 minutes of action as his French side snatched a valuable 1-0 away victory against the German Bundesliga side.
Going into the crucial game with five points in the group, the win further added boost to Monaco’s their chances of qualification for the knock out stage with just one game remaining in the group fixtures.
Echiejile hailed his teammates for a job well-done, he spared a thought for the traveling Monaco fans who cheered them on to record the away win.
Echiejile took to the social media, twitter, to convey his pleasant feelings at the out come of the match. He wrote on his twitter account:
“Good result away from home against BayernLeverkusen. Tremendous support from our travelling fans” Echiejile wrote on his twitter account at his French team returned to base.
Group C for now remains wide open courtesy of Monaco’s 1-0 win in Germany thanks to a second-half strike from substitute Lucas Ocampos.
The Nigerian international also paid tribute to late Phillip Hughes, saying the World has lost a great personality.
